Parent (Caregiver)/Child Developmental Playgroups 
Our groups mirrors a very short infant/toddler school day with activities and transitions that supports developmental learning and parent education. 
 
Curriculum Used"Read It Once Again"
Read It Once Again Curriculum utilizes Unique Approaches to Learning and Teaching Strategies.

 

The units are based on popular young children’s literature such as:

  • Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

  • The Very Hungry Caterpillar

  • From Head to Toe

  • I Love You

  • Oink, Moo, How Do You Do?

  • Silly Sally

  • Goodnight Moon

  • Clap Your Hands

  • Jump, Frog, Jump!

 

Our curriculum uses language rich activities that encourage and promote early learning and development. Our activities are carefully thought out and planned to match each child's developmental skill level and to assist in meeting each child's goals and objectives. 

 

Curriculum Includes:​

  • Sequencing and Storytelling cards

  • Rhymes and finger plays

  • A Mother Goose Rhyme in each unit with rebus sequencing cards

  • Color identification and matching

  • Counting

  • Gross Motor movements

  • Big and Little/ Which One is Different?/Positioning

  • Recipes

  • Parent Letters

  • Assessment Tool

  • Lesson Plans

  • Messiness & Fun

 

Social Engagement/Free Play

  • Child guided play & interactions

  • Encouraged social play and interaction with peers

  • Gross & Fine Motor activities 

 

Adaptive Skills

  • Hand Washing

  • Potty Time (for those who are being potty trained)

  • Lunch (introduction of new foods, especially for those picky eaters, using utensils and drinking from an open cup) 

  • Oral Motor Activities (chewing, blowing, sucking & licking, all to build mouth muscles needed to help improve speech)

 

Group Days & Times
Days: Tuesday & Thursdays
Time: 10am - 12 noon

**Parents/Caretakers must accompany their child(ren) and will learn valuable intervention strategies to utilize outside of group.**

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, our developmental playgroup are rendered virtually. We hope to restart in person groups in May 2021.
